Etchings

Illustrations

Etching is a process where there is a metal plate coated with a waxy substance called ground. With a needle tip instrument the image is then drawn on. This exposes the metal so that when dipped into the acid bath that metal is eaten away leaving a valley. After the plate is made it is time for the inking process in which there is a brayer, ink, and a printing press. A very incredible medium for an aspiring artist.
